Caller: Nowadays, the lifestyle of married life begins with lots of love and happiness for each other. Not long after that, quarrel and arguments pursued. But always, the couple will stay for the sake of the children, there is no way for them to separate. It is difficult to end the couple's affinity. Everyday, there is hatred in continuing to live together this way. In such a marriage, how should we as Buddhist face up to the situation with the right attitude?
Master Lu: First, you have to know if there is no third-party interference, then this can be resolved; If you discover your spouse is already having an ongoing affair, then this problem would be more troublesome which means the beginning of negative affinity and it would be difficult to keep the relationship.
Caller: To go with the flow, right?
Master Lu: That's right. No matter how much a couple quarreled, if there is no third-party interference, they will eventually patch up. To exercise restraint and tolerance, recite sutras and mantras, diffuse calamites, all can be resolved; If your wife has fallen in love with a young man, then do not hold any illusion of her coming back to this relationship, it could mean she has forgotten you, already has no more affections for you, time to say goodbye.
Caller: Nowadays, many are trapped in relationship in which they cannot get out of, and thus feel vindictive. One thus feels: I treat my spouse so well, and yet I get this in return.
Master Lu: This is the beginning of negative affinity! Who would at the time of getting married think of getting a divorce? Getting married is living happily ever after, isn't it not.
Caller: When the negative affinity begins, they too cannot accept the reality of this, in fact all of these are the causes of past lives.
Master Lu: Fate. Remember these words, there is nothing unacceptable, if it is unacceptable, alternatively we still have to accept, whether we want to accept of not, ultimately we still have to accept. In this mortal world ... this is the reason why Master always advises that all of you must "bear nothing", you must accept what you "have", bear "nothing". Today if the marriage is good, then it is good so accept it too. There is no other way. It is definitely the problem with your affinity between you and your spouse.
